Is Blackberry a secure smartphone ?

As we all know that Blackberry is known for security.

We have seen old school Blackberry smartphones, which are the most secure smartphones. Blackberry with OS 6 uses BIS services to connect to the internet.That means the connection is going through the Blackberry server making an end to end connection secure.

Later, with Blackberry 10 series, BB puts an end to BIS service. But a question arises, is it secure. I would say yes. When you turn on the data services. You can see the Blackberry logo pop-ups at  the top right corner, making an end to end connection through the Blackberry server.

But when Blackberry joins the hand with Android. Here comes the big question. We think it's not secure. Because Android is an open source platform, is not secure. Its completely prone to attacks.

With Blackberry DTEK security over Android makes it a most secure smartphone. Blackberry provides four levels of encryption on top of Android.

If an attacker tries to manipulate the Kernel source code on Blackberry Android smartphones. The phone will not going to boot. The kernel of Blackberry, Android smartphones is totally Hardware dependent . So any changes in kernel will make the phone unusable.

This year is an amazing year for flagship smartphones. We have seen many smartphones with new concepts. But, what you think we should compare Blackberry smartphones with the flagship smartphones. Does security matters in a smartphone?

Security as a matter of fact has never been taken into consideration by any smartphone brand apart from Blackberry. Why security must be taken into consideration? If you are connected to the internet. That means any day any time your smartphone may get affected by Vulnerability attack, where your data can be compromised. Do monthly security patches provide security updates. Yes, it does provides but that is just a single layer of protection that can be broken.
